Hove has more houses and more large period flats than central Brighton, and both take longer than their bedroom count suggests. High ceilings, original sash windows, deep skirting and more floor area per room all add time, so a "two-bed" here is not the same job as a two-bed conversion up the hill.
We are honest that Hove is a smaller part of our round today than Brighton is. That is not a coverage problem, it is simply where the work has come from so far, and it means we usually have more flexibility on days here rather than less.
There are also more small offices, studios and salons along Church Road and around the station than people assume, and commercial work there fits neatly either side of the domestic round.
